Northwestern Oklahoma State University's annual Ranger Preview event for high school seniors will take place Saturday, Nov. 8, at 9 a.m. in Percefull Fieldhouse.
"We hold Ranger Preview to encourage students to visit our campus to see the numerous opportunities that awaits them at Northwestern,” said Matt Adair, director of recruitment.
Any high school senior who attends Ranger Preview and is admitted to Northwestern as a full-time student at the Alva campus will receive the $400 scholarship. Community Bank also will have a drawing to receive an additional $500 scholarship.
Every high school senior is eligible to attend Ranger Preview.
Pre-registration is suggested by recruitment personnel to facilitate planning and service. However, students are welcome to come the day of the event without pre-registering.
Students can pre-register by going to www.nwosu.edu and clicking on the Ranger Preview icon.
The schedule of events for the day includes registration beginning at 9 a.m., with a welcome at 10:30 a.m. Students then will go on campus tours, meet with faculty members and representatives of campus organizations and have photographs taken to be sent to hometown newspapers.
"We have asked campus organizations to attend that day, and there should be at least one faculty representative from each department available for seniors and their parents to visit with," Adair said.
Prospective students and their families will be guests of Northwestern at a cookout at noon. The meal will be cooked by the Rowdy Rangers, a university support group.
To register by phone or to find out more information about Ranger Preview, contact the office of recruitment at (580) 327-8546 or by email at email@example.com.
