GUYMON, Okla. – The Northwestern men’s golf team finished in third place at the Oklahoma Panhandle State University Fall Invitational hosted at the par 71 Sunset Hills Golf Course in Guymon played on Oct. 6-7.
As a team, the Rangers were 10 strokes behind second place Southwest Christian as Northwestern shot a 633. The host, Oklahoma Panhandle State University, won the event with a 599.
Matt Lee and Ty Billey led the way for Northwestern as they both netted a 155 and tied for eighth place. Lee shot 81-74, while Billey carded an 82-73. Matt Kirk tied for 14th with a 78-82—160. Bryant Briggs and Brent Anderson were three strokes apart, with Briggs shooting an 81-82—163 for a tie for 17th and Anderson tying for 19th with an 84-82—166.
The men’s team will round out the fall season at the Blue Devil Fall Golf Classic hosted by Kansas City Community College on Oct. 13-14 at Dub’s Dread Golf Club in Kansas City, Kan.
