    April 24, 2017 – The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Jazz Ensemble, Symphony Band and Community Band will present their spring band concert “Emblems” on Friday, April 28, at 7 p.m. in Herod Hall auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

  • Northwestern instrumental music program welcomes participation in community band; starts March 21 in Alva

    January 19, 2017 -- The Northwestern Oklahoma State University instrumental program welcomes college students, high school students and community members to participate in five rehearsals leading to a Community Band Concert April 28 at 7 p.m. in Herod Hall auditorium. Rehearsals will be each Tuesday from 6:55-8:45 p.m. beginning March 21 in Fine Arts 310 on the Alva campus.

    April 26, 2016 -- The Northwestern Jazz Ensemble and Symphony Band will present “Cajun Folk Songs” at Herod Hall Auditorium Sunday, May 1, at 2 p.m.The band will be guest conducted by student directors Arthur Bohlmann, Alva senior; Amanda Metcalf, Enid sophomore; and Daniel Pacula, Alva junior.

  • Huckeby to be guest conductor at band concert Feb. 28

    February 22, 2016  -- Dr. Ed Huckeby, a former music department chair, director of bands and administrator at the university, is returning to Northwestern Oklahoma State University on Sunday, Feb. 28, to be the guest conductor during a 2 p.m. concert of the Community Band and Northwestern Jazz Ensemble.

    February 9, 2016 -- “Bedlam: Ranger Style” is coming up Monday, Feb. 15, at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, and Ranger band members are looking for alumni to join them when Ranger basketball takes on Great American Conference rival Southwestern Oklahoma State in Percefull Fieldhouse.   • Two Northwestern Band Members Participate in Oklahoma Intercollegiate Honor Band

    January 29, 2015 -- Northwestern Oklahoma State University students Amy Mikles and Amanda Metcalf were selected to perform with the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Honor Band, which rehearsed and performed Jan. 21 and 22 as part of the 2015 Oklahoma Music Educators Conference in Tulsa.  Metcalf, Enid freshman, is a music education major and plays the clarinet. Mikles, Turpin senior, plays the alto saxophone and will graduate from the pre-med program in May.

  • Northwestern to play host to honor band clinic, concert

    January 15, 2015 -- About 300 area high school and middle school band students will be on the Northwestern Oklahoma State University campus Friday and Saturday for the annual Oklahoma Red Carpet Country Band Director’s Association Honor Band Clinic and Concert. The 2015 Honor Band Concert will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Herod Hall Auditorium and is free and open to the public.

  • Ranger Band pays tribute to fallen Ranger

    September 5, 2012 -- Paying tribute to a Ranger Band alumnus who died in June are members of the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Ranger band during a practice session the week before the start of the fall semester.
