Paying tribute to a Ranger Band alumnus who died in June are members of the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Ranger band during a practice session the week before the start of the fall semester. Bradley Gilbert, who battled leukemia since shortly after his graduation in 2007, died June 11 at his home in Enid. Band members wore red and blue shirts to represent the colors of Bradley’s schools (Northwestern, Enid and Hennessey), as well as orange for leukemia awareness. Bradley’s sister Shawna, Enid senior, (far right on end) is a member of the band and is marching in her last season, which kicks off Saturday at 7 p.m. when the Rangers take on Colorado State-Pueblo at Ranger Field.
