Robotic contest to see students
in 'Laundry Quandary' Saturday

All robotics fans are welcome to attend the Heartland BEST Robotics competition Saturday in Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Percefull Fieldhouse to see more than 250 middle and high school students from Oklahoma and Kansas compete in the “Laundry Quandary.”

Preliminary rounds will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. where teams will be moving wet and dry laundry with their uniquely-built robots. This process will simulate a home-automated laundry system. Semi-final and final rounds will follow soon after the preliminary rounds are over. An awards presentation ceremony is scheduled for approximately 4 p.m.  Read more...

World Dinner planned for Oct. 24
An evening of cultural diversity through food, fashion and entertainment will take place on the Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Alva campus Tuesday, Oct. 24, during the World Dinner.

The International Student Association, Spanish Club and Student Government Association are planning the event for 6 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom. Tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for Northwestern students and children under the age of 12. Tickets are available in Vinson Hall room 121, Fine Arts room 125, from any International Student Association officer or at the door, if not sold out.  Read more...

Commemorative homecoming coin,
t-shirts now available for sale

The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Alumni Association is now offering for the first time a limited edition commemorative coin in conjunction with the university’s annual homecoming celebration on Nov. 2-4.

The silver coin with red and black accents depicting this year’s homecoming theme of “Get Your Kicks in 2006” is available for $15 in the Alumni Association office in the northwest corner of the Student Center.  Read more...

Rodeo team continues to perform well            The Northwestern Oklahoma State University rodeo team continued this year’s winning ways at the Pratt (Kan.) Community College, although this week, the men and women virtually reversed results. At Pratt, the men’s team finished in first place, while the women’s team placed third. Four from Northwestern
earn theatre festival recognition

Three Northwestern Oklahoma State University students and one faculty member recently earned honors at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in Lawton.  Read more...



Hundreds of Northwestern alumni, current students, employees, fans, friends and family attended a Northwestern  alumni tailgate party prior to the Rangers vs. UCO Bronchos football game Saturday, then stayed on to cheer for the Rangers in an exciting, hard-fought game. The Rangers almost defeated the NCAA-II team, but just missed out on the victory, 31-26.  To see more photos from the tailgate party and crowd, click here.

Northwestern Oklahoma State University students and faculty members are invited to begin submitting abstracts for the first Ranger Research Day scheduled for March 30, 2007.

NWOSU Homecoming buttons go on sale
Colorful buttons designed for Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s homecoming celebration will go on sale Friday morning, Oct. 6. Friends of the university will have the opportunity to buy the buttons as a way of supporting the annual event, this year scheduled for Nov. 2-4. Read more...
