2006 for Woodward facility Northwestern Oklahoma State University plans to begin construction next month on a 19,905
square foot general classroom and office building that will house the
university’s operations in Woodward, university officials said in a plan
outlined today.
Exterior and interior drawings, along with a floor plan of the building, were presented to members of an advisory committee and other community members. The advisory committee worked with Northwestern in developing the plans. Read more... October 9,
2006 becomes United States citizen How many amendments are there to the Constitution? What is the Bill of Rights? Who is the Attorney General of the United States? Who is the Chief Justice of the U.S Supreme Court? What is the Constitution? Who wrote the Star Spangled Banner? All of these questions and more are asked of anyone wanting to become a U.S citizen. On Sept. 29, after answering every question correctly, Dr. Venkata Moorthy, professor of biology at Northwestern, and his wife Sudha did just that--became citizens. Read more... October 3, 2006
October 4, 2006 This Halloween-themed blood drive will include games and prizes in the Wyatt Room for everyone who signs in. For all donors, there will be free food in the Ranger Room provided by Chartwells and Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI). Donors also have their choice of a free NWOSU Ranger Red t-shirt or an OBI donor t-shirt. Plus, every donor gets free health checks, including readings on body temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, cholesterol and iron levels. Read more...

That will be the question Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. when Northwestern Oklahoma State University presents an audience-participation jazz band concert. The event is free, and the public is invited. October 5, 2006 All three of Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s vocal ensembles will perform at 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 15, in Herod Hall Auditorium. Korenblit, author and co-founder of the
Respect Diversity Foundation,
spoke October 4, 2006 now in area classrooms Thirty education majors at Northwestern Oklahoma State University began student teaching Sept. 18 in schools in Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana. In addition to their practice teaching duties, the students will return to campus for seminars on Oct. 25 and on Dec. 11. Their portfolio assessment exit interviews will be Dec. 12-15. Northwestern on Oct. 9Dayna Dunbar, author and Oklahoma native, will appear on the Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Alva campus at 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 9, in Room 109 of the Struckle Education Center. The event is free and open to the public. Her appearance, sponsored by Northwestern’s J.W. Martin Library and the Alva Public Library, is part of the Oklahoma Reads Oklahoma lecture series. Dunbar’s novel, The Saints and Sinners of Okay County, was selected by an online public vote as the series’ 2006 book, and she will make appearances throughout the state. Read more...
