Northwestern Assessment Day is April 11
Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s third annual Assessment Day for all students and employees is scheduled for Wednesday, April 11. Employee workshops, as well as student tests and surveys, will take place at various times throughout the day.

No daytime classes will take place to allow all Northwestern students and employees to participate in their particular areas. All night classes will take place at their regular times.

Brownrigg crafts mace
for presidential investitureDr. Jerry Brownrigg displays the mace he crafted for the presidential investiture ceremony at Northwestern Oklahoma State University on Friday, April 6.
When Dr. Janet Cunningham is formally invested as Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s 19th president, the ceremony will feature a mace newly-crafted by Dr. Jerry Brownrigg, professor emeritus of technology.

The mace is one of the traditional symbols of office that will be used during ceremonies beginning at 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 13, at Percefull Fieldhouse in Alva. State leaders in government and higher education, along with delegates from other colleges and universities are expected to attend. A reception will follow in the Student Center Ballroom. The public is invited to both events.

Gift from Harold Hamm will fund bronze
statue of Ranger horse on Enid campus
Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s most treasured symbol – the bucking horse and its rider – is about take on new life on its Enid campus.

Northwestern announced Wednesday that Enid businessman Harold Hamm will fund the creation of a bronze statue of the horse and rider that will become a focal point of the Enid campus and an enduring symbol of Ranger pride.  Read more...

Investiture Ball set for April 13
An evening of great music and dancing will cap off a day of ceremonies celebrating the investiture of Dr. Janet Cunningham as 19th president of Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

The President’s Investiture Ball will be from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m., Friday, April 13, in the Merchant’s Building at the Woods County Fairgrounds.  Read more...

First Ranger Research Day a success
The first Ranger Research Day at Northwestern Oklahoma State University was described as a “resounding success” by Dr. Rodney Murrow, director of the event.

More than 30 entries were received from students and professors. Each researcher prepared a 4’ x 4’ poster that illustrated the study and an abstract that outlined the project.  Read more...

lands TV reporter job in Arkansas

A Northwestern Oklahoma State University mass communications senior will be putting her knowledge to the test when she moves to Arkansas upon her graduation in May and begins her career in television.

Allison Woods of Medicine Lodge, Kan., will begin her duties on May 21 as a general assignment reporter at KNWA (NBC) and KFTA (FOX 24) in Fayetteville/Fort Smith, Ark.  Read more...

Oklahoma! musical set for late April
There now is less than a month before the curtain opens on Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s musical production of Oklahoma! The ca
Enid senior Adam Treeman and Alva senior Cara Bradt portray their characters Will and Ado Annie in a recent rehearsal for the upcoming musical Oklahoma!  The production will be held April 26, 27 and 28 in Herod Hall Auditorium at Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Alva.st and crew, who include both students and employees of the university, have been working hard since the fall semester to get ready for this show.

The three-hour production will be performed in Herod Hall Auditorium April 26 and 27 at 7 p.m and April 28 at 1 p.m. Tickets are now available in the Northwestern-Alva Business Office.  Prices include $5 for Northwestern students with a current ID, $8 for Northwestern employees and $10 for the general public.  Read more...

            Northwestern Oklahoma State University will formally invest President Janet Cunningham with the symbols of office during tradition-filled ceremonies on Friday, April 13, in Alva.
