Web site benefits from Northwestern
instructor's love of Oklahoma
Larry Justice
A love of Oklahoma and its history has led a Northwestern Oklahoma State University adjunct instructor to test the knowledge of others.

Larry Justice, who teaches humanities and communication classes at the university and has served as the director of the Baptist Student Union since 1978, recently found the web site www.ibelieveinoklahoma.com. After visiting this site a few times and finding the same trivia questions at the “Test Your Okie Knowledge” link, he made a few contacts that led him to April Murelio and Beth Schmidt with the Oklahoma Department of Commerce. Murelio has been his principle contact regarding the quiz.

Karla Bonoff brings soulful pop music
to northwestern Oklahoma Feb. 23

“Long before Alanis and Jewel, there was a breed of singer/songwriters whose earthly anthems of soul-searching, heartache and joy touched souls in a way few can muster today.”

That is how Billboard Magazine summed up the legacy of Karla Bonoff in a review of her “All My Life” recording.

Northwest Oklahomans have the opportunity to hear Bonoff’s magic live at 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 23, in Herod Hall Auditorium at Northwestern Oklahoma State University as part of the Northwest Oklahoma Concert Series. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and available at Holder Drug, Schuhmacher’s, Alva Chamber of Commerce and Northwestern Bookstore or by calling (580) 327-8590.   Read more...
