August 11, 2006 Red Riot Concert to feature Cross Canadian Ragweed Sept. 27 One of the nation’s hottest alternative country music groups will perform at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva during the student-led Red Riot week. Cross Canadian Ragweed, an Oklahoma based group, will make its way back to the state for a performance on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 8:30 p.m., in Northwestern’s Percefull Fieldhouse. General admission tickets for the concert go on sale Aug. 28 in the business offices of Northwestern’s Alva and Enid campuses and in the administrative offices at the Woodward campus. Fans also can purchase tickets by MasterCard, Visa or Discover by calling (580) 327-8534 or (580) 213-3104. Approximately 1,250 tickets will be made available to the general public. Current Northwestern students will be eligible to win another 300 tickets while sponsors and members of Cross Canadian Ragweed’s official fan club will have exclusive access to another 250 tickets.
July 27, 2006 Fall semester classes begin Aug. 21 Classes for the 2006 fall semester at Northwestern Oklahoma State University begin on Aug. 21, and prospective students are encouraged to complete the enrollment process as soon as possible, said Dr. Steve Lohmann, vice president for academic affairs. Enrollment for the semester ends Sept. 1. Read more…July 12, 2006 Pecha, Franz fill senior administrative positions Two senior level administrative positions at Northwestern Oklahoma State University have been filled by veterans in higher education with ties to the institution. Dr. Janet Cunningham, president of Northwestern, has appointed David Pecha to serve as vice president for administration, and Brad Franz, to serve as dean of student affairs and enrollment management. NWOSU Foundation’s annual meeting Sept. 16 The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Foundation’s annual meeting is Saturday, Sept. 16, at 10 a.m. in the Student Center Wyatt Room. Executive Director Skeeter Bird said all members of the Foundation are invited to attend. A member is anyone who has donated at least $100 to the organization. On the agenda are the presentation of plaques to donors who have reached new levels of giving, an annual report and the election of new trustees and officers. Anyone with questions may contact the Foundation’s office at (580) 327-8593. August 8, 2006 Two Northwestern Oklahoma State University students, along with two university staff members, spent part of the summer studying Spanish at the source—Spain. Read more… July 12, 2006 Northwestern staff members attend Business Management Institute Sheri Bushman, bursar at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, and Charleen Carlile, manager of the Enid campus business office, attended the College Business Management Institute (CBMI) July 31 through Aug. 4 in Lexington, Ky. The institute is offered through the Southern Association of College and University Business Officers (SACUBO). Read more… July 5, 2006 Tuition waivers now offered for high school seniors, juniors Oklahoma high school seniors and juniors who enroll in classes at Northwestern Oklahoma State University will now be eligible to receive tuition waivers for up to six hours per semester. The program will begin with the upcoming fall semester that starts Aug. 21. Read more…Advance tickets available Advance discounted tickets for the game are available for purchase with cash, check or credit card at the Northwestern Business Office. Visa, Mastercard and Discover credit card purchases can be placed over the phone to the Northwestern Business Office at (580) 327-8534. All tickets ordered must be picked up at the Business Office. Adult tickets are $8 and children’s tickets ages 6-12 are $5. Children under the age of 6 are admitted free. Ticket sales will end at 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 25. Prices will increase to $10 the day of the game.
