February 2, 2007 ![]() “Ride with Pride” by giving the gift of life at the Northwestern Oklahoma State University blood drive in the Student Center Ranger Room on Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 7-8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Every donor will receive a free Northwestern “Ride with Pride – Buck Up & Give Blood” T-Shirt, bonus points from participating instructors and free sandwiches from Chartwells. Donors also will earn Members for Life Points that can be redeemed in in the Northwestern Oklahoma Blood Institute (NWOBI) on-line store for Wal-Mart, gas or restaurant gift cards or merchandise at www.obi.org. 2007 Northwestern Oklahoma State University has informed the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) that an internal investigation has confirmed that the school’s football program used an ineligible player in six games during the 2006 season. February 5, 2007 looking for volunteer help The newly created Woods County Visitor’s Center located within walking distance of the Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Alva campus is looking for a few good volunteers. Alexandra Mantz, Alva Chamber of Commerce director, is working with the Woods County Economic Development Committee in coming up with enough volunteers to staff the center. The new center, located at 512 Oklahoma Blvd., opened Feb. 1 with enough seniors from the community volunteering to have it open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through the month, but more volunteers are needed, which could be a great opportunity for Northwestern students. January 26, 2007 music for concert series program Feb. 6 An evening filled with musical memories portraying Oklahoma’s history will be performed by Go for Baroque (G4B) at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 6, in Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Herod Hall Auditorium. The concert, titled Route 66: Go for Barbeque, promises a centennial celebration not to be forgotten. Read more... January 31, 2007 Molly Bates of Estherville, Iowa, has signed a letter of intent to attend Northwestern Oklahoma State University in the fall of 2007 and participate with the Ranger rodeo team.
