2007 program accepted by state board Northwestern Oklahoma State University now has an officially accepted plan of study from both the Oklahoma State Board of Licensure for Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors, as well as from the Oklahoma State Board of Licensure for Licensed Professional Counselors. 2007 Northwestern Oklahoma State University has announced new dates and times for the EDUC 5010 Graduate Study Seminar originally scheduled for Jan. 12 and 13. “Because of the recent series of weekend winter storms, we had to postpone the required seminar,” said Dr. Rodney Murrow, associate dean for graduate studies. “We now have a new schedule with sessions in Alva, Enid, Woodward and Ponca City. January 26, 2007 music for concert series program Feb. 6 An evening filled with musical memories portraying Oklahoma’s history will be performed by Go for Baroque (G4B) at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 6, in Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Herod Hall Auditorium. 2007 The deadline for students, faculty and to submit entries in the first annual Ranger Research Day is Friday, Feb. 16. All faculty and staff members and all students with faculty sponsors are eligible to submit abstracts outlining their research projects. Each abstract should be 100-250 words in APA format. Entry forms are available online at www.nwosu.edu/graduate/research/entry.dot and must be submitted as an e-mail attachment to Dr. Rodney Murrow at rcmurrow@nwosu.edu. January 24, 2007 NWOSU social work students receive educational internships Five students enrolled in the social work program at Northwestern Oklahoma State University have been announced as recipients of educational internship stipends from the Child Welfare Professional Enhancement Program (CWPEP). They are senior Jeanetta Bussell of Alva and junior Stephany Wilson, junior Jo Lynne Vendetti, senior Tamera Guymon and senior Shylah Ridgway, all of Enid. Read more... January 19, 2007 offered for one credit hour each Three one-credit hour short courses in humanities are being offered at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in February and March. “Aspects of American Art” will be taught by adjunct instructor Ken Kelsey on three consecutive Saturdays, Feb. 10, 17 and 24, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in room E126 at Northwestern’s Enid campus. Students interested in this class must enroll in HUMN 4480 with the key number 2E958 by Jan. 22. Kelsey said that the purpose of this class is to connect people to American art and enable them to appreciate it more deeply. He added that class members will view art, discuss it, and also submit a written report after analyzing a piece of art. Read more...
