changed The Brown Bag Lunch will occur as scheduled at noon on Friday (Jan. 19) in the Northwestern Boardroom. Dr. Doug Watson, the Chautauqua performer, will discuss “Will Rogers: Oklahoma’s Native Son and World Citizen.” The Saturday events scheduled for Jan. 20 now will be held on Saturday, Jan. 27. Watson will lead a workshop at 2 p.m., also in the Boardroom, titled “Media Blitz: Will Rogers on State, on Screen, in the Papers and over the Airways.” The main event will be the Chautauqua performance at 7 p.m. in the campus commons area. In character as Rogers, Watson will present “Ropin’ Up the Good Times in Oklahoma.” An additional event has been added on Jan.. 27. Beginning at 10 a.m., Watson will host a mini film festival with Will Rogers’ feature films, also in the Boardroom. January 19, 2007 offered for one credit hour each Three one-credit hour short courses in humanities are being offered at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in February and March. “Aspects of American Art” will be taught by adjunct instructor Ken Kelsey on three consecutive Saturdays, Feb. 10, 17 and 24, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in room E126 at Northwestern’s Enid campus. Students interested in this class must enroll in HUMN 4480 with the key number 2E958 by Jan. 22. Kelsey said that the purpose of this class is to connect people to American art and enable them to appreciate it more deeply. 2007 Northwestern Oklahoma State University will play host to the annual Miss Northwestern pageant on Saturday, Feb. 10, at 7:30 p.m. in Herod Hall Auditorium. Seven women will vie for the title that evening. Tickets at the door are $8, but tickets purchased in advance are $6. Advanced tickets can be purchased by calling pageant director Misti Knopf at (580) 327-8194 or by contacting one of the contestants. Admission is free to all Northwestern students with a current school ID. Competing for the title, currently held by Elizabeth Harris of Seiling, are Allison Cunningham, Jordi Curtis, Amanda Decker, Kasey Fowler, Jordan Gaskill, Angela Gregg and Amy Hook. First Ranger Research Day March 30 "Ranger Research Day" is open to any Northwestern student, faculty or staff member who is actively engaged in a research project or who has completed a research project in a previous semester. Deadline for entries is Friday, Feb. 16. Keynote speaker for the event is Northwestern alumnus Dr. Stephen W. Painton, class of 1969, currently Chair of the Department of Communication Science and Disorders at the College of Allied Health, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City.
LiveText portfolio training sessions set Eligible graduate students are those who have taken or are currently enrolled in EDUC 5010 Graduate Study Seminar (formerly Introduction to Graduate Study). Individual sessions will last approximately 20 minutes. Students should email Dr. rodney Murrow to schedule an appointment (rcmurrow@nwosu.edu).
Graduate Faculty: "Graduate Portfolio Assessment" sessions will last approximately 30 minutes and are for those graduate faculty members who serve on the advisory committee of one or more graduate students in the M.Ed. program. Graduate portfolios are assessed at three ‘milestone’ checkpoints: at the 10th hour of enrollment, at the 17th hour and at the conclusion of the master’s degree program. Graduate
