FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 3, 2007
NORTHWESTERN OFFERS SPECIAL SPRING
SEMESTER
INCENTIVE PACKAGE TO TRANSFERRING STUDENTS
A one-time only offer is being made to students at other colleges and universities who are thinking about transferring to Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
Those students who transfer for the spring 2008 semester will be eligible for a $500 special transfer award, said Brad Franz, dean of student affairs and enrollment management.
Full-time undergraduate students who transfer to Northwestern for the start of classes in January and live in Alva will receive $500 to use as partial payment of tuition costs. A cumulative grade point average of 2.0 is required.
The transfer award is made possible through a unique initiative approved by voters in Alva to provide financial assistance to Northwestern students. The initiative’s guidelines require that students receiving the incentives must live in Alva while attending Northwestern.
Any students interested in transferring to Northwestern can obtain additional information by contacting the Office of Recruitment at (580) 327-8546 or e-mailing recruit@nwosu.edu. General information also is available by clicking on “Prospective Students” on the university’s web page at www.nwosu.edu.
The deadline for submitting a scholarship application for the transfer student incentive is Jan. 7, 2008. A printable version of the application can be found online at: http://www.nwosu.edu/financ/scholarship_application.pdf.
Enrollment for the spring semester at Northwestern is open and classes begin Jan. 7.
