ALUMNI ASSOCIATION PLANS FAN BUSES TO RANGER FOOTBALL GAMES

            The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Alumni Association is taking reservations from Ranger football fans to ride chartered buses to the team’s first two games.

            The Rangers will open the season with a game against former conference rival  Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford on Thursday, Aug. 23. A week later, the team will travel to Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant.

            Alumni director Lizabeth Richey said that on Aug. 23, the bus will begin loading on the east side of Ranger Field at 3 p.m. with departure from Alva scheduled for 3:30 p.m. The bus will arrive in Weatherford in time for the Alumni Association’s 6 p.m. tailgate party.

            Kickoff for the game will be 7 p.m., and the bus will return to Alva immediately afterwards with an anticipated arrival time around midnight.

            Cost for this trip is $25 per seat and 55 seats are available. Reservations may be made by calling (580) 327-8593 or e-mailing nwalumni@nwosu.edu. The deadline is 5 p.m., Monday, Aug. 20.

            The Durant bus will leave Alva at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 20, also from the east side of Ranger Field. There will be time in Durant for a meal before the kickoff at 6 p.m. Arrival back in Alva is estimated at 3 a.m., Friday.

            This trip will cost $45 per seat and 55 seats are available. The deadline for reservations is 5 p.m., Monday, Aug. 27.

            Tickets for the games are not included in either bus fare. Tickets will be available for purchase at the gate.
