LOVE FUND ESTABLISHED FOR FAMILY OF INJURED ALVA MAN

A Love Fund has been established at Alva State Bank for the family of an Alva man injured in an ATV accident early Sunday morning. Joshua Hansel is in critical condition at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita with head trauma, two fractured neck vertebrae and a broken arm.

He is the husband of Becky Hansel, secretary in the Division of Education at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, and son-in-law of Jim Detgen, director of Northwestern’s physical plant.

Natalie Miller, assistant certification officer in the Division of Education, said Becky Hansel and the couple’s daughter Rylee are at the hospital and other members of the family will take turns staying with them. Becky is five months pregnant.

Miller explained that the fund is designed to help with travel and other related expenses. She added that Hansel is heavily sedated to allow brain swelling to subside.

Donations can be made to the Josh Hansel Love Fund, P.O. Box 37, Alva, OK 73717. Cards of encouragement can be sent in care of his parents Bob and Debbie Hansel at 707 3rd Street, Alva, OK 73717.

Cards can be sent to Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, 929 N. St. Francis, Wichita, Kan., 67214. Josh is in the surgical intensive care unit (SICU), and there is not a room number.
