NORTHWESTERN OFFERING SUMMER HISTORICAL WORKSHOP
“Oklahoma Character Centennial Summer Institute” will be offered July 16-19 at Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Enid campus. The workshop will meet each day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Enid Boardroom.
Sample topics include “Indians, Buffalo and Cattle,” “Transportation,” “Early Enid History and Government” and “Territory and Statehood.”
The workshop is being presented in conjunction with the Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS). Lectures and re-enactments will be presented by regional and local historians and authors, the OHS and the Railroad Museum of Oklahoma.
Current teachers will receive 48 professional development points by attending the workshop. Three hours of college credit also can be earned through Northwestern.
The fee for the workshop is $100, which covers the cost of all class materials and several meals, but not college enrollment fees. Class size is limited.
