SWING CABARET DANCES INTO ACTION ON TUESDAY
The annual Swing Cabaret, postponed from Feb. 13, will take to the floor of the Student Center Ballroom at Northwestern Oklahoma State University at 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 3. The evening’s entertainment will end at 10 p.m.
Couples and singles alike are invited to listen and dance to swing music, said Eddie Vandewalker, instructor in music and director of choral and vocal studies.
Vandewalker said a $3 cover charge per person will be taken at the door. Northwestern students and employees with a current ID card will be admitted free. The Phi Delta Music Society will be serving cheesecake and soft drinks.
“The entire evening will be filled with live music by one group or another and sometimes combinations of the groups involved. All are invited to come for the entire evening or to the portion that best fits their schedule,” Vandewalker said.
The University Singers, the University Chorale, the Northwestern Jazz Band, Alva High School Jazz Band and featured soloists will perform during the evening for the audience’s listening and dancing pleasure.
