FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 6, 2006
NORTHWESTERN TO HOLD SUMMER CONNECTION FOR STUDENTS
Northwestern Oklahoma State University has scheduled its first Summer Connection Enrollment Day, July 20, on the Alva campus for first-time freshmen, transfer students and current students.
“It’s an effort to get students in touch with faculty for advisement and enrollment during the summer,” said Matt Adair, director of recruitment.
Amanda Haynes, admissions counselor, said the goal of this event is to serve students by giving them an additional opportunity to talk with advisers during the summer.
Along with academic advisement sessions, the day will include campus tours, parent meetings and placement tests.
First-time freshmen need to bring copies of high school transcripts and ACT scores.
Transfer students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA and bring copies of all college transcripts. Transfer students with fewer than 24 hours also must bring copies of high school transcripts and ACT scores.
There is a $15 fee for the application for admission that should be turned in at the Registrar’s Office.
Registration begins at 9:15 a.m. in the Student Center Wyatt Room.
Students also can register online at www.nwosu.edu/recruit/summerconnection.html.
