NORTHWESTERN PROFESSOR TO PARTICIPATE IN EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE
Dr. Adeana Sallee, assistant professor of education at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, will participate in the 26th annual Encyclo-Media Conference to be held Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City.
Sponsored by the Oklahoma State Department of Education, the conference includes programming in all curricular areas, concentrating on library media, reading, counseling, gifted and talented education and technology. More than 3,000 educators are expected to attend.
Sallee, along with Dr. Suzanne Spradling of St. Gregory’s University, and Dr. Liz Willner of the University of Oklahoma, will present a program titled “WILD about Reading: A Meaningful Integration of Science and Literature.”
Sallee said that the program encourages teachers to become actively involved in the context of inquiry through the learning cycle and for them to engage, explore, explain, extend and evaluate as they participate in Project Wild activities and literature connections.
