NORTHWESTERN STAFF MEMBER WINS STATE AWARD

            The work of Valarie Case of Alva, a university relations specialist at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, recently was recognized by the Oklahoma College Public Relations Association (OCPRA).

Case placed second in the four-color poster category of OCPRA’s annual awards competition. The announcement was made last week at the group’s annual conference. She designed a large poster to be used by Northwestern’s Office of Recruitment.

One side of the poster is made to look like a cork board with pinned-on snapshots of student activities at Northwestern and other items. The reverse provides important information to potential students about degree programs, housing, tuition costs, scholarships, clubs and organizations.

OCPRA’s membership comprises two and four years colleges and universities located throughout the state.
