REGENT STANSBERRY TO ADDRESS NORTHWESTERN GRADUATING CLASS
Mark Stansberry, a
member of the board of regents the Regional University System of Oklahoma, will
be the speaker at Northwestern Oklahoma State University 108th commencement
ceremony at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 5, at Ranger Field.

A reception will immediately follow the ceremony, also at Ranger Field. In case of inclement weather, commencement will be moved to Percefull Fieldhouse and the reception to the Student Center Ballroom.
Stansberry is chairman of the GTD Group that comprises several companies providing services that include international trade and investment, technology management, research and development, government relations, educational consulting, energy consulting and environmental consulting.
He is a graduate of Oklahoma Christian University, The Fund for American Studies (formerly named the Institute on Economic and Political Systems) at Georgetown University, the Intermediate School of Banking at Oklahoma State University and the Commercial and Agricultural Lending School at the University of Oklahoma.
He currently serves as chairman of the Governor’s International Team and the State Chamber’s Energy Council. Stansberry also is a member of the board of trustees of People to People International, board of regents for The Fund for American Studies and the advisory board of the International Institute on Economics and Political Systems of Athens, Greece.
Stansberry is president of The International Society of The Energy Advocates and chairman of the International Energy Policy Conference. He also is past chairman of the board of regents of the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma and has served on various other boards and councils.
In 1991, Stansberry co-authored an energy handbook titled “The Acquisition Process and Due Diligence: Minimum Risk/Maximize Return!” He has testified before the U.S. Senate Natural Resources Committee and other regulatory bodies.
He and his wife Nancy have three children and reside in Edmond. He enjoys playing guitar and reading.
