NORTHWESTERN ADMINISTRATORS ATTEND STATE CONFERENCE

            Dr. Cheryl Evans, dean of Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Enid, and Dr. Deena Fisher, dean of Northwestern-Woodward, attended the fall semester meeting of the Council of Oklahoma Extended Campus Administrators (COECA) held at the McAlester Campus of Eastern Oklahoma State College.

            COECA was formed last year with the purpose of strengthening higher education extended campus institutions in Oklahoma. Its mission is to aid, develop, advance and enhance the purpose of those campuses.

Fisher was re-elected to the office of vice president of the organization. Evans is an active member of COECA and last year was host of the association at the Enid campus.

Dr. Ed Huckeby, a former dean and band director at Northwestern, will be serving his second year as president. He currently is associate vice president of academic affairs at the Broken Arrow campus of Northeastern State University. Susan Camp, director of the Duncan campus of Cameron University, is the secretary/treasurer.

At the latest meeting, approximately 25 extended campus administrators from around the state heard a presentation by Dr. Richard Bernard, president of Eastern Oklahoma State College, about “The Role of the Branch Campus. . .Two-Year Institution Perspective.”

They also discussed the budget process at branch campuses and heard reports from those who attended the Regional and Branch Campus Administrators Leadership Conference and the National Association of Branch Campus Administrators Conference.
