NORTHWESTERN’S CAREER SERVICES OFFICE PROVIDES
ELECTRONIC MATCHING SERVICE FOR WORKERS, EMPLOYERS

Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Career Services Office provides an electronic means to assist in regional workforce development. Posted on the Career Services’ web site at www.nwosu.edu/career is Ranger Board, a link to those seeking employment and those with job openings. Using College Central Network, Inc. (CCN), this system powers hundreds of college and university career centers across the nation. 

            Dr. Patti Wilber, director of the Walch Center for Business Development and Career Services, said the Ranger Board provides students and alumni with the ability to search the jobs database. Likewise, employers may post jobs and view student and alumni resumes.

            “Ranger Board also gives students and alumni quick access from their computer to job openings posted through Northwestern’s Career Services Office. Users save time and find convenience in using the Ranger Board to post jobs or seek employment,” she said.

Wilber noted that employers also can remove any posting once the job is filled and registered candidates seeking employment may remove their listing once they secure employment.

            “The NWOSU Ranger Board offers significant benefits to our students and alumni, as well as employers,” Wilber said. “The biggest advantage is that this career tool provides an electronic means to quicken their search in applying for a job or hiring employees.”

            Wilber said regional school systems registering and posting their open teaching and administrative positions have expressed satisfaction and success to search for job candidates.

 “Students, alumni, and employers are encouraged to use this electronic system,” Wilber said.
