ALUMNI ASSOCIATION ARRANGING FAN BUS TRIP
TO KANSAS CITY FOR NAIA BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Alumni Association is arranging for fans of the Rangers to travel in comfort to watch the basketball team play in the NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City.
The bus will depart Ranger Field at 8 a.m., Thursday (March 15). Alumni director Lizabeth Richey said the group would stop for a morning break and for lunch, arriving in Kansas City around 3 p.m. for check-in at the hotel.
Passengers will have free time until the 8 p.m. tipoff with Lewis-Clark (Idaho) State University. As long as the Rangers win games, the group will stay in Kansas City, returning to Alva the day after a loss.
For the return trip, the bus will depart around 3 p.m. to allow passengers more free time in Kansas City. With a rest stop and break for dinner, it is expected to arrive back at Ranger Field at approximately 10 p.m.
The bus fare is $50 per seat and hotel rooms are $89 plus tax per day. Richey has made reservations at the Radisson Hotel, which is approximately one half block from Municipal Auditorium where tournament games will be played.
“The Radisson is across the street from Kansas City’s mass transit line, which allows easy travel from the hotel to noteworthy places all over the city,” Richey said. “It is only blocks from the River District, approximately three miles to the plaza and two to three miles to the Crown Centre area.”
Reservations for the trip may be made by calling Richey at (580) 327-8594. Deadline for reserving a seat on the bus is 5 p.m., Monday (March 12). There is room on the bus for 55 passengers.
Advance game tickets are $7 per person. Richey said she would order those for the Thursday night game as soon as the bus fills.
