ALUMNI ASSOCIATION PLANS HOMECOMING ACTIVITIES
The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Alumni Association has a busy day ahead of it on Saturday, Nov. 4, for the annual homecoming celebration.
The day begins with the 5K Ranger Run and fun run/walk at 8 a.m. The start/finish line is in front of the Rialto Theater. Late registration is possible until 7:45 a.m. Saturday at $20 for the 5K and $15 for the fun run. Each entrant receives a homecoming T-shirt.
A tent, set up on the north side of the square, will be the site of a reception for honorary parade marshal Jim Barker from 9 to 9:45 a.m. The public is invited to stop by to extend well-wishes.
The Association is selling the homecoming T-shirts at $10 for one shirt, $15 for two. One dollar will be taken off the cost of one shirt, if the buyer is wearing a homecoming button. The shirts are available at the Foundation/Alumni Office in the Student Center and also will be available at the tent on homecoming day.
The Rowdy Rangers booster group will cook up barbequed pork sandwiches with all the trimmings at noon, also at the alumni tent on the square. A fund-raising event for the Alumni Association, lunch will cost $5 and the public is invited to partake. Presidential Partners can eat for free.
Alumni of the Ranger band will play with a special alumni band during the football game with Texas College. Dr. Mike Knedler, dean of the School of Arts and Sciences and former Ranger band director, will lead the alumni. Alumni band members also have been invited to ride in the homecoming parade on the float of the local chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi (KKP), national honorary band fraternity
