The students were accompanied by Steve Sneary, chapter sponsor and Northwestern’s farm manager, and his wife Ashlee. They serve as vice chairmen of the Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s YF&R’s state committee.

Representing Northwestern were Tyler Classen, Fairview sophomore; Duke Nunley, Alva freshman; Mandy Campbell, Cherokee senior, and March Venjohn, Ingalls, Kan., junior.

All four students had won all-expense-paid trips to the conference for their performances at the Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s Collegiate Discussion Meet held in December at Northwestern.

The national meeting focused on leadership and personal development opportunities. The interactive conference brought together more than 800 young farmers and ranchers from 45 states.

In addition to motivational speakers and mini-leadership and agriculture sessions, the students toured Florida agricultural operations and attractions, including the Loop Nursery and Greenhouse, Jacksonville Port Authority and Budweiser Brewery.

The conference also included a Collegiate Discussion Meet with students representing their universities.

“Mandy Campbell did an excellent job in competing and in representing Northwestern and Oklahoma,” Steve Sneary said. “For her efforts, she will receive a scholarship sponsored by the American Farm Bureau Federation.”
