Twenty shovels were adorned with Northwestern Oklahoma State University colors prior to the groundbreaking ceremony.

The NWOSU Ranger Band entertained the crowd of about 300 prior to the groundbreaking ceremony.

The Woodward High School Choir sang the Star Spangled Banner.

It was high heel to shovel as NWOSU President Dr. Janet Cunningham takes part in the groundbreaking ceremony

at the new site for the university's Woodward campus at 2007 34th Street.

Dr. Deena Fisher, dean of NWOSU-Woodward, happily stands near architects renderings of what the new campus building in Woodward will look like.
