FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 17, 2007
OKLAHOMA! OPENS IN HEROD HALL AUDITORIUM APRIL 26
It’s been one year in the making, and on Thursday, April 26, all of the blood,
sweat and tears of researching, set building, costume creating and rehearsing
will come to fruition when the curtain opens on the first public performance
of
Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s
Oklahoma!
The show will run April 26 through 28 in Herod Hall Auditorium as part of the university’s observance of the State of Oklahoma’s Centennial Celebration, as well as the school’s 110th anniversary.
Show times for the three-hour production are 7 p.m. on April 26 and 27 and 1 p.m. on April 28. Tickets are available in the Northwestern-Alva Business Office in Herod Hall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Prices are $5 for Northwestern students with a valid university ID, $8 for all Northwestern employees, and $10 for the general public. For tickets, please call (580) 327-1700.
Kimberly Weast, the production’s director and technical director, is asking that anyone planning to attend the show to please purchase their tickets prior to the performance rather than waiting to pay at the door.
“We have been asked to present a production on Sunday (April 29); however, we can’t

do a Sunday production until we know for certain that our Thursday-Saturday presentations are full,” Weast said.
Eddie Vandewalker, director of choral and vocal studies at Northwestern, joins Weast as the musical director and choreographer for the production. Ling-Yu “Alice” Kan, instructor of music, is the rehearsal and performance pianist.
For additional information, please contact Weast at (580) 327-8462 or Vandewalker at (580) 327-8692.
