NORTHWESTERN ADJUNCT PROFESSOR
TO BE INTERIM SUPERINTENDENT FOR HENNESSEY SCHOOLS

            Dr. Lyle Young recently was hired as the interim superintendent for Hennessey Public Schools for the upcoming school year. Young currently is a retired school administrator and adjunct professor for Northwestern Oklahoma State University. 

            Young was a teacher and administrator in Tulsa Public Schools for 33 years. He was deputy superintendent of Tulsa Public Schools in 1995 when he accepted the superintendent’s position at Stillwater. He continued there until his retirement in 2001.  Since that time he has worked as an assessment coordinator for the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) and as an adjunct professor for Northwestern.

            Young received his undergraduate degree in education from the University of Oklahoma, his master’s degree from Northeastern State University and his doctorate in public school administration from the University of Tulsa. 

He and his wife, Martie, a professor of education at Northwestern, live in Enid.
