ALUMNI ASSOCIATION SCHEDULES FULL SLATE OF ACTIVITIES FOR SPRING REUNION

            The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Alumni Association has scheduled a variety of activities for Spring Reunion on Saturday.

            From 2 to 5 p.m., the Northwestern Museum of Natural History, located in Jesse Dunn, and the historic one-room McKeever School, located near the Struckle Education Center, will be open to the public. Campus tours led by members of the Northwestern Scholar Ambassadors will begin at 3 p.m. from the Food Court in the Student Center.

            Dr. and Mrs. Paul Beran will entertain members of the honored classes of 1936, 1946 and 1956 at a come-and-go reception in the president’s home from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. At 5 p.m., a bell ringing ceremony to honor deceased alumni will be held at the alumni bell tower on the Herod Hall lawn.

            A pinning ceremony for alumni who graduated in 1936, 1946, 1956 and 1981 will begin the Ranger Room of the Student Center at 5:15.

            The special awards presentation will start at 6 p.m., also in the Ranger Room. At the presentation, winners of the T.C. Carter Award, Dr. Joe Dollins Merit Award, John Sheffield Teacher of the Year Award, Sabin and Pearl Percefull Scholarship, Psychology Student of the Year Award, John Ted Meier Student Teacher Award and John F. Kennedy Award will be honored. The 2006 outstanding seniors also will receive their awards at the ceremony.

            The alumni banquet will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom. In addition to the meal, the schedule of events includes remarks by the senior class president Jocelyn Sweeden of Shattuck, the year in review report by Dr. Beran, recognition of special awards recipients, recognition of members of the honored classes, presentation of the outstanding graduate awards and election of officers for the Alumni Association board.

            This year’s outstanding graduates are Gary Wolgamott, Weatherford, Class of 1963, education; Trudy Wheeler, Louisville, Ky., Class of 1979, humanitarian; Jack Lancaster, Stillwater, Class of 1972, business and professional; and Eliot Smith, Barnsdall, recognition.
