FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 29, 2006
HYPNOTIST DOUG MACCRAW TO PERFORM AT NORTHWESTERN ON APRIL 4
National touring comedian and Certified Hypnotist Doug MacCraw will be performing at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, in Herod Hall Auditorium on the campus of Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
MacCraw
combines his standup
and
improvisational skills to create the hottest hypnosis shows in the country.
MacCraw, a nationally known hypnotist and stand-up comedian, performed at
Northwestern in the fall of 2002 and is back for the second time.
At his first performance, his volunteers were convinced that one of their shoes was a phone and that they had received a call to tell them that they had won a million dollars. The volunteers were ecstatic with joy until the phone call got disconnected. Other volunteers were hypnotized to forget their names, think they were aliens and realize they just met their long-lost identical twin.
MacCraw has appeared on Comedy Central's "Stand-up/Stand-up," ABC's "Heartland Live" and FOX's "Night Shift with Kevin Ferguson."
He will be performing as a part of Greek Week, co-sponsored by Panhellenic Greek Council, the Student Government Association and Presidential Partners. Admission is free of charge.
Other events for Greek Week will be happening on campus at 8 p.m. each night. On Monday, everyone is welcome to come for hotdogs and volleyball games at Coronado Court. On Wednesday, there will be obstacle course relay games by Coronado Court, with the small gym being used for inclement weather; and Thursday, the movie premiere of “King Kong” will be shown at Ranger Perk.
“Greek Week is a week-long event for the entire Northwestern campus,” Jocelyn Sweeden, panhellenic president, said. “It is named Greek Week because it is organized by members of the Greek community. It is not a recruiting tool for the sororities or fraternity; it is simply being held to provide all students with something fun to do.”
