NORTHWESTERN HISTORY HONORARY INITIATES SEVEN
Seven Northwestern Oklahoma State University students were initiated into the Mu Lambda chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, national history honorary society, at the end of the spring semester.

The initiates are Clint Claypole and Jessica Follis of Enid, April Miranda of Gage, Gordon Patton and Bradley Wilson of Ponca City, Kori Shreck of Blackwell and Nathaniel Soderstrom of Chandler.
Dr. Roger Hardaway, professor of history and Mu Lambda chapter adviser, spoke briefly to the group about the history of Phi Alpha Theta and conducted the initiation of new members
Other history faculty members participating in the ceremony included J.W. Platt, instructor; Dr. Eric Schmaltz, assistant professor, and Glen McIntyre, adjunct instructor. Chapter members in attendance included outgoing president Shae Brown of Laverne and incoming president Phothong Chanthanivong of Anaheim, Calif.
Other newly-elected officers are Soderstrom, vice-president; Claypole, secretary, and Patton, treasurer.
Phi Alpha Theta is a professional society with a mission to promote the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians.
