FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 13, 2005
DONATIONS TO RED CROSS TO BE ACCEPTED DURING RANGER FOOTBALL GAME SATURDAY
Don’t forget the checkbook and gather up the loose change because volunteers will be at Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Ranger Field to collect donations for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund during Saturday’s home football game against Bacone College.
Approximately 20 Northwestern students and staff members from the Northwestern Art Society (NAS) and Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) have volunteered to collect donations from Ranger and Warrior fans.
A table will be set up near the concession area prior to the 1 p.m. kickoff to accept donations. At the end of the first quarter, the volunteers will be going out into the stands, as well as the tiered parking area, to pass the bucket for donations.
All of the volunteers will be easy to spot as they will be wearing a special “American Red Cross + Northwestern Oklahoma State University Riding to the Rescue” t-shirt donated by Donnie Miller of Miller Graphics in Waynoka.
Northwestern also will continue to accept donations to the Red Cross through Sept. 22 at its business offices in Alva and Enid, and in the administrative offices in Woodward.
Northwestern will make a presentation representing the amount of money collected through various efforts to Red Cross officials in Louisiana during the football team’s trip to Lake Charles to play McNeese State University on Sept. 24.
