BOB SCHMIDT ACTIVE IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY GROUPS
Bob Schmidt, director of information technology at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, recently attended the 24th annual South Central POISE Users’ Group meeting in Hot Springs, Ark.
Schmidt is in the middle of a three-year term on the POISE Users’ Group (PUG) board of directors and serves as president of the group. PUG includes individuals and institutions that use the Jenzabar PX family of products. POISE/Jenzabar PX is Northwestern’s administrative software system.
He has been active in the South Central PUG since 1983 and was given special recognition by the group in 1998. During the meeting, Schmidt also was elected to serve for two more years on the Jenzabar Advisory Group (JAG). As part of his duties in the two positions, he will attend meetings in San Diego, Boston and Tulsa during the coming year.
The PUB board consists of 10 members who represent more than 100 member schools using the Jenzabar PX product. There are 14 members on the JAG, serving in an advisory role to Jenzabar management.
Schmidt said that more than 400 persons attended the South Central PUG meeting. Other attendees from Northwestern were Cynthia Nighswonger, institutional research specialist; Sheri Bushman, bursar; Fawn Kingcade, accounting clerk; Charleen Carlile, Enid business office manager; and Shirley Murrow, registrar.
