FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 5, 2005
NORTHWESTERN SCHEDULES GRADUATE PORTFOLIO CLINIC
The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Graduate Studies Office will conduct a Graduate Portfolio Clinic at 6:30 p.m., Monday, April 25.
The clinic is open to all Northwestern graduate students and faculty advisers in the Master of Education program and will be available at the three campus locations: Carter Hall 107 in Alva, Studio 214 in Enid and Woodward High School 108 in Woodward. The clinic will last approximately an hour and will conclude with a question and answer session.
Dr. Beverly Warden and Dr. Lisa Holder, assistant professors of education and portfolio specialists, will be clinicians for the session. Diana Friend, coordinator of graduate studies, and Dr. Rodney Murrow, director of graduate studies, also will be available to answer related questions.
Participants are encouraged to bring a copy of the Portfolio Handbook for Advanced Programs available on the graduate studies web site at www.nwosu.edu/graduate/portfolio.html. Graduate students should also bring a two or three inch three ring binder with dividers and tabs as specified in the handbook.
Graduate students in the Master of Education program who applied for graduate study after Jan. 1, 2003, are required to submit a graduate portfolio that follows guidelines described in the handbook. Students who applied prior to that date are required to pass a written comprehensive examination unless they have received permission from the Graduate Committee to submit a graduate portfolio in lieu of taking the written exam.
