LIT INITIATES NEW MEMBERS, ELECTS OFFICERS
Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Lambda Iota Tau (LIT) recently initiated new members into its national honor society for students of literature and elected new officers.
Joining the club are
Nita Harris, Jet post-graduate, as vice president; Kylie Case, Mooreland
sophomore, secretary; Meagan Masters, Kiowa, Kan., junior, treasurer; Amy
Whitewater, Woodward senior, historian; Lindsay Headlee, Alva sophomore, public
relations; Nick Lyon, Alva junior; and Rebecca Lee, Mooreland junior. Laura
Noble, Fairview senior, is continuing her membership from last year and is
serving as president.
Kathy Earnest, instructor of English, serves as the honor society’s adviser.
LIT members also sponsored a book sale in Vinson Hall during the first week of April. Proceeds from the event will be used to fund future literary projects, Headlee said.
To become a member, students must be a major or minor in literature, be in the top 35 percent of their class in cumulative grade point average, have obtained at least a 3.0 GPA in at least 12 semester credit hours of literature, and be enrolled in at least their fifth semester of college.
LIT was founded on Dec. 3, 1953, and is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies.
