NEW SCHOLARSHIP ESTABLISHED AT NORTHWESTERN
Patricia Warren and family have established a new scholarship with the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Foundation to honor Warren’s mother Aline R. Littlefield-Sargent and brother George W. Littlefield Jr.
According to Jane McDermott, executive director of the Foundation, the purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to a continuing student residing in Cherokee or Waynoka. Full-time students with majors in any field of study are eligible.
Aline Rozella Littlefield-Sargent was born in 1923 and graduated from Enid High School. She married George W. Littlefield and they lived in Cherokee where she was an active member of the First Baptist church, serving as secretary/treasurer of her Sunday school class for many years. She also was a member of the Sew-It Club and a volunteer at Cherokee Hospital.
Littlefield died in 1969 and in 1984, she married Thane Sargent of Waynoka and they lived west of Aline until her death in 2003.
George W. Littlefiled Jr. was born in 1945 and graduated from Cherokee High School. He attended Okmulgee Tech, completing a two-year course in automotive technology. He moved to Bartlesville and worked for Oakley Pontiac and then Reda Pump until his death in 1985.
