NORTHWESTERN FAMILY DAY SET FOR SEPTEMBER 20

            Families of Northwestern Oklahoma State University students are invited to participate in annual Family Day festivities Saturday, Sept. 20, and have the chance to win tuition waivers for the spring semester.

            The day kicks off with a reception at 9 a.m. in the Ranger Room of the Student Center. Students and families will have the opportunity to meet and visit with faculty members and register to receive free tickets to the football game. Families also can register to win Ranger sweatshirts from the Northwestern Bookstore for having traveled the farthest distance. Entertainment will be provided by the Studio Singers.

            Families will be able to visit classrooms and tour other facilities as all campus buildings will be open from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

            Students can register their families early at the Northwestern Bookstore and receive free game tickets all day on Friday, Sept. 19, and until noon on Saturday.

            A tailgate party will take place on the third tier of the Ranger Field parking lot from noon until the start of the game with Haskell University at 2 p.m. Hamburgers and hotdogs with all the fixings, chips, cookies and drinks will be served at cost of $3 per person.

            Families are invited to visit participating Alva merchants and register to win tuition waivers for the spring semester. No purchase is necessary and families can register at each of the stores. At halftime, names will be drawn for first through third prizes of $500, $300 and $200 tuition waivers provided by the Northwestern Foundation. Families must be present to win.

            Participating in “Shopping for Tuition” are Alva State Bank, Community National Bank, Holder Drug, Daisy Village, Taco Mayo, JaDeanna’s Apparel, Jones Amusement & Rialto Theater, McDonald’s, Happiness House, Peg’s Furniture, Perry Tire, Radio Shack, Schuhmacher’s, Taco Village, Etc. Shoppe, Lyn’s T-Shirt Factory, Wal-Mart and Merle Norman.
