AUDIENCE TO EXPERIENCE NORTHWESTERN DRAMA PRODUCTION

‘UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL’

The intense legal drama “12 Angry Jurors” will be presented at Northwestern Oklahoma State University this week and the audience will be on stage with the actors to experience every dramatic moment.

The play will be performed at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (Feb. 19-21), and at 2 p.m. on Sunday (Feb. 22) in Herod Hall Auditorium.

Because only 42 seats will be available on stage for each performance, only reserved tickets are available. Tickets may be reserved by calling Kimberly Weast, assistant professor of speech and theatre, at 327-8462. Adult tickets are $5 and $3 for Northwestern faculty, staff and students with ID. Tickets will go on sale Wednesday, Feb. 18.

“12 Angry Jurors” is based on the 1957 movie “12 Angry Men” starring Henry Fonda, Lee J. Cobb, Ed Begley, E.G. Marshall, Jack Warden and Jack Klugman. A group of 12 strangers must decide the fate of a young man accused of murder, and yet each juror’s own past, prejudices and individual motives cloud reasoning and voting.

The cast includes Josh Jennings, Alva freshman, Guard; Katrina Segers, Belle Plaine, Kan., Juror #1; Katy Lewis, Richardson, Texas, junior, Juror #2; Nick Bradt, Alva junior, Juror #3; Lewis Mize, Follett, Texas, freshman, Juror #4; Zach Smith, Cherokee freshman, Juror #5; Brooke Weiss, Anthony, Kan.,  freshman, Juror #6; Kirt Province, Ashland, Kan., freshman, Juror #7; Rich Ragan, Enid freshman, Juror #8; Dee Hayden, Alva sophomore, Juror #9; Savannah White, Alva freshman, Juror #10; Grant Bowen, Alva junior, Juror #11; and Cara Sheik, Carmen freshman, Juror #12.

“’12 Angry Jurors’ is not a children-friendly show. There is no foul language, but once the audience is on the stage, people will not be able to leave the room without walking through the performance area,” Weast said.
