University President's Home

The home for the university president was built in 1918 for $15,000.

A family room and dining area were added in 1955 at a cost of $25,700. Extensive interior redecorating was done in 1972.

Exterior work was begun in 1985 to replace the roof and deteriorated fascia and soffits. Foundation repair also was required. The family room was razed because of termite and water damage and replaced by an extension on both floors of the structure to increase living and entertaining space. Cost of the remodeling, completed in 1987, was $90,000.

The President's Home underwent a transformation (inside and out) during the 2000-2001 school year. The house, which is located to the west of Herod Hall, is home to Northwestern's president Dr. Janet Cunningham and her family.
