Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Department of Social Sciences and Institute for Citizenship Studies will present the annual Presidential Lecture Series Tuesday, March 1, at 7 p.m. in the Education Center, room 109, at the Alva campus.
The program will feature Dr. Michael Cohen, associate research professor of history at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, who will discuss this year’s topic about James K. Polk, the United States’ 11th president, who served from 1845-1849. Polk has been referred to as “America’s Most Important Unknown President.”
Cohen also will talk about career opportunities in public history.
The event is free and open to the public.
