Project to Reduce Crime Against Women (PRCAW)
What can we do for you?
As a member of the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Community, you can get help if you are the victim of:
- Intimate Partner Violence/Abuse
- Sexual Assault
- Stalking
The Project to Reduce Crime Against Women is a federally-funded, campus-based program that can help you get assistance with confidentiality.
Whom do we serve?
PRCAW serves all students, faculty, and staff of Northwestern Oklahoma State University who are survivors of these crimes. Service will be provided regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, appearance, religion, or orientation.
What will we do for you?
Though actions taken are survivor-driven, the PRCAW Coordinator can inform the survivor of all the remedies/services that are available to them. The staff will work with the survivor as much, or as little, as is determined necessary by the survivor as they seek assistance.
The PRCAW Coordinator is prepared to advocate for the survivor in the following areas:
- Medical assistance
- Legal assistance
- Counseling - on & off campus
- Housing needs or relocation
- Accessing the Campus Judicial System
- Academic concerns e.g. schedule changes
This is not a complete list of services. PRCAW recognizes that some survivors will have unique needs and PRCAW will take reasonable action to help the survivor obtain the necessary assistance.
Should I get help?
If you are not sure you have experienced one of these crimes, come talk with us. We can help you decide if a crime has occurred and what action you want to take. It is never a waste of your time or ours and we will maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Project to Reduce Crime Against Women is a partner of Regional University System of Oklahoma Violence Prevention Project (RUSO-VPP) funded by East Central University Grant #2007-WA-AX-0004 from U.S. Dept. Justice Office on Violence Against Women.
