Former Northwestern Oklahoma State University students, turned doctors were on campus giving incoming student-athlete physicals. Dr. James Keeney, 1979 graduate, and Dr. Brock Schnebel, 1977 graduate, examined student-athletes last week in preparation for the new school year.
Keeney and Schnebel examined more than 50 student athletes in football and soccer.
“The key things to assess are any precursors that may or may not allow a student to participate in athletics,” said Rob Hibberts, head athletic trainer.
The doctors, along with other physicians, will be back on campus on Aug. 23 to continue examinations for the remaining 375 athletes.
“Dr. Schnebel and Dr. Keeney have provided invaluable service to Ranger student-athletes for years,” said Dr. Janet Cunningham, university president. “Northwestern appreciates their assistance so much.”
Keeney is a chiropractor at the Northwest Chiropractic Clinic in Alva. Schnebel is an orthopedic physician at the McBride Clinic in Oklahoma City.
