    December 20, 2013-- After filling out the application, writing two essays and answering numerous questions, Northwestern Oklahoma State University freshman JonReid Ross of Burlington finally heard the news he had been waiting for – the Oklahoma Division of Student Assistance (ODSA) program had awarded him a scholarship to help defray costs at Northwestern for the fall 2013.

  • Personal story of bullying to be told at Northwestern Saturday

    November 27, 2012 -- Bullying. It’s a funny-sounding word, but there is nothing humorous about this behavior of unwanted, repeated, aggressive actions, whether it is verbal, social, physical or online. Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Upward Bound program will shed some light on this topic Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Herod Hall Auditorium as it welcomes Kirk and Laura Smalley of Perkins to the Alva campus for a free public lecture. The Smalleys will share their personal story of how bullying affected their son Ty.

    Upward Bound at Northwestern Oklahoma State University is teaming up with Oklahoma Blue Star Mothers to create “Freedom Boxes” and write letters to military personnel. The group is taking donations in the form of eye wash, hand sanitizer, deodorant, sunscreen, chap stick, foot powder, etc.
