OKLAHOMA CITY (9-26-11) – Luis Pena paced the Northwestern Oklahoma State University men’s cross country team to a seventh place finish in the Oklahoma City University Fall Classic this past Saturday.
Pena finished the day in 39th place with a time of 29:42, about four minutes behind the race’s victor Geoffrey Njonjo of Oklahoma Christian.
Ethan Neal and Rob Robledo rounded out the top 50 finishers for the Rangers squad, completing their races at the 30:43 and 30:50 marks respectively.
Other Ranger runners included Chaunce Carrico (33:10), Scott Pendergraft (33:21) and Eric Treleaven (34:40).
Claiming the team crown in the event was Sooner Athletic Conference powerhouse Oklahoma Christian, placing six of their seven runners in the top 10.
The Rangers will take to the course again on Saturday (Oct. 1) at the famous Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree.
