Samy Mack III and Gilda Palacio were named the 2012 Ranger King and Queen during halftime of the Ranger Homecoming football game Saturday. They are pictured with flower girl Carrington Kline and crown bearer Endy Barraza.
During halftime of the Ranger football game on Oct. 13, Gilda Palacio, Woodward junior, and Samy Mack III, Tulsa sophomore, were crowned as 2012 homecoming queen and king during the coronation ceremony at Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
Palacio is a biology/chemistry pre-med major. She participates in the Student Government Association, Medical Sciences Club, Chemistry Club, Rangers Excelling at Leadership (REAL) and Northwestern Student Ambassadors. Gilda enjoys reading and writing and is sponsored by REAL. Her parents are Gerardo and Hilda Palacio.
Mack is majoring in history education and health and sports science. He enjoys hanging out with friends, watching SportsCenter and playing intramural sports. Mack is sponsored by Apologia. He is the son of Samy Mack and Candice Counts.
In a separate election, Skylar Birdsall, Medford freshman, was chosen as the Freshman Queen.
The flower girl was Carrington Kline, daughter of Jesse and Misti Kline of Alva. Endy Barraza served as the crown bearer. He is the son of Efrain Barraza and Julie Barraza of Alva.
