March 2, 2010

The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Alumni Association will recognize five Outstanding Graduates during the annual Spring Reunion Banquet on Saturday, April 24 at 6 p.m.

The honored alumni include Rodney R. Dunkin, class of 1963, of Alva, Outstanding Education Award; Jane Hobbs McDermott, class of 1977, of Alva, Outstanding Business/Professional Award; Jack Kippenberger, class of 1965, of Tequesta, Fla.

Outstanding Humanitarian Award; Nicolle Rubenstein Campbell, class of 1993, Tallahassee, Fla., Outstanding Arts Award; and Grant Bowen, class of 2006, of Champaign, Ill., Outstanding Recognition Award.

The Alumni Association established the Outstanding Graduates program in 1973 to pay tribute to alumni achievement. Beginning in 1977, awards were presented in specific fields: Business/Professional, Education and Humanitarian.

In 1984, the Recognition Award was added to honor someone who has made significant achievements within five years of graduation. This year, for the first time, an alumna in the Arts field will be recognized.

The banquet in the Student Center Ballroom is open to the public, but reservations are required by April 15. The cost is $15 per person. For more information or to make reservations, contact Lizabeth Richey, Alumni Association director, at 580-327-8594 or lrrichey@nwosu.edu.
