Nursing students, professionals inducted into honor society

Nursing students from Northwestern Oklahoma State University and professionals from northwest Oklahoma attended the Northwest Oklahoma Honor Society of Nursing induction ceremony last week.

Seventeen nursing individuals were inducted into the honor society.

Dr. Carole McKenzie, chair of the Division of Nursing, received each individual signature into the honor society; Cheryl Kent, instructor of nursing, passed out certificates, and Jennifer Bays, instructor of nursing, gave each student a cord to complete the ceremony.

Dr. Barbara Haas, associate professor and doctorial program director at the University of Texas at Tyler, spoke to the attendees about practical nursing decisions and the importance of being an active member of the honor society.

Northwestern current students and graduates inducted into the Northwest Oklahoma Honor Society inductees are Wendy Bersche, Alva senior; Whitney (Davey) Judd, Helena senior; Maggie Lamle, Columbia, Mo., senior; Antony Nduati, Alva senior; Anthony Stolzy, Tulsa senior; Lisa White, Enid senior; Jennifer Kibbe, May graduate of Broken Arrow; Michelle Kimminau, May graduate of Enid.

Other professionals inducted are Edward Hermann, Madelyn Keck, Larry Majors, Patricia Michaelis-Durfey , all of Enid; Corinna Reed of Billings; Connie Spomer, adjunct of Ringwood; Dr. Marianne Szauer, adjunct of Stillwater; Weslie White, Enid adjunct; and honorary member Haas.
