Northwestern theatre to present family-friendly performance

The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Department of Fine Arts will present “The Wizard of Oz in the Wild West,” Nov. 12-14 in Herod Hall Auditorium. The show, written by Willard Simms, will be an all-ages tale of The Wizard of Oz with a western twist. It will revisit the story’s classic characters, as well as add in some new faces.

The Thursday and Friday showings will be at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. for local and area elementary schools. The Saturday performance will start at 2 p.m. and is open to the public. Admission is $1.

Alishia Holdeman, Fairview freshman, as Dorothy; Stuart Campbell, Woodward freshman, Scarecrow; Tali McDonald, Alva freshman, Tin Man; Kristie Harris, Seiling freshman, Lion; Charlie Burns, Sayre senior, Gus; Leslie Reynoso, Perryton, Texas, freshman, Miss Puffing; Ashley Pittman, Kingfisher freshman, Hiram; Jackie Prim, Kingfisher freshman, Tommy; Becky Burke, Oilton junior, Miss Grimshaw; Bob Gilliland, Pawnee junior, Wild Bill Hickock; Timothy Bolin, Stratford freshman, Billy the Kid; Ashlynn Walker, Perryton, Texas, junior, Annie Oakley; Strick Reyes, Waynoka freshman, Chief Flaming Arrow; Chris Shirley, Perryton, Texas, freshman, the Wizard; and Jennifer Fisher, Burns Flat freshman, Clarise.
