The Northwestern Foundation & Alumni Association’s sixth annual Thank-a-Thon will take place Oct. 24-26, from 5-8:30 p.m. The event will be held in the Student Center Ballroom on Northwestern’s Alva campus and is open to all students, faculty, staff, clubs and organizations.
During the three-day event, volunteers will make phone calls and write notes to Northwestern Oklahoma State University donors to thank them for supporting Northwestern students and the university. Along with phone calls and written notes, donors also are encouraged to join the students each night for conversation and a face-to-face ‘thank you’.
“I am excited to be involved with my first Thank-a-Thon,” said Tandy Keenan, relationship manager. “It is one of our biggest events and is at the heart of our mission of ‘Bonding Donors' Passions with Northwestern's Success.’ The Thank-a-Thon allows students to know the people behind their scholarships and for donors to know that they are truly making a difference in students’ lives.”
The Northwestern Foundation & Alumni Association started its Thank-a-Thon event in 2011 to allow students the opportunity to thank donors for their generous gifts to Northwestern. With an increase in participation each year, more university donors are being contacted. Students thanked 1,884 donors last year compared to 1,093 in 2011.
If interested in participating, email Keenan at firstname.lastname@example.org with t-shirt size and dates available for volunteering, or call 580-327-8592.
